July 16th saw Skylight Cinema take part in the ‘Henry V on the Road to Agincourt’ celebrations in Bishop’s Waltham. The event was set in the grounds of the 11th century Bishop’s Waltham Palace to celebrate the 600th anniversary of Henry V’s visit to the Palace on his way to the Battle of Agincourt. It stretched over 4 days with open theatre, a medieval banquet, falconry, archery, music, food and film screening of Kenneth Branagh’s Henry V.
Around 200 people arrived early to the screening with tea lights, tables and picnics to settle into the grounds of the ancient palace. The film screening began at 9.30pm under a perfect star filled night, giving everyone the ultimate experience of location specific cinema adding a unique and visceral dimension to the viewing experience.
