St Austell based company Skylight Cinema, who hire outdoor cinema equipment to event organisers across the UK, has grown from three events to over 300 in just three years.
With outdoor cinema screenings becoming increasingly popular over the last five years, it is estimated there will be over 1,200 outdoor screenings across the UK in 2018. Skylight is providing equipment for well over 300 of these events, making them the largest provider in the country.
The company, who does 95% of its screenings in London and out of county, puts part of its success down to their ‘nothing is too much trouble’ policy. Business owner Warwick Royden said, “From first inquiry through to the event itself, we work to ensure our clients have all the support they need – no matter how unusual the request. Most of our clients are organising a screening for the first time, so we provide lots of guidance and advice on event planning and management”.
Produced by a German company called AirScreen, Skylight’s screens are recognised in the industry as the best available. Along with their innovative inflatable cinema, Skylight’s most popular screens are 8 and 10 meters wide and suitable for up to 2,000 people.
Skylight has done screenings on ferries and in fields, on rooftops and mountains and in swimming pools and quarries. They say their most bizarre location was in the most haunted church in England for a 3 Mobile horror screening.
With clients including English Heritage, The National Trust, ITV, Carlsberg and The Red Cross, this little Cornish company has become an industry leader with a 100% safety record and impressive list of five star testimonials.
